Chad Daybell’s attorney said Lori Vallow Daybell could be called as a witness at his client’s upcoming triple murder trial.
Vallow Daybell was sentenced last July to life without parole for the September 2019 slayings of her two children, J.J. Vallow and Tylee Ryan, 7 and 16, who were reportedly found buried on Chad Daybell’s property nine months after their disappearances. Vallow Daybell also got a life sentence for conspiring the murder of Chad Daybell’s late wife, Tammy Daybell, in October 2019.
Chad Daybell, who is married to Vallow Daybell, is charged with murdering her two children and his first wife. The couple got married weeks after Tammy Daybell’s death, which was initially ruled natural.
Chad Daybell’s trial will be live-streamed and is expected to begin on Monday. Chad Daybell’s attorney, John Prior, told KIVI he learned some details about the case from attending Vallow Daybell’s high-profile trial last year.

“It’s possible. It’s always possible,” Prior said, regarding whether Vallow Daybell will take the stand. “Anybody connected to a case can be called and I want to be clear, I’m not telling you I am or the State or anybody is, but anybody could be called if you have an involvement in this case you can potentially become a witness on this case.”
Vallow Daybell is awaiting trial in Arizona for killing her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, in July 2019. Vallow Daybell’s brother, Alex Cox, fatally shot Charles Vallow and claimed self-defense. Cox died — reportedly of natural causes — in December 2019, months after J.J. Vallow and Ryan’s disappearances. Idaho prosecutors claimed Cox was also involved in the slayings.
KIVI reported that Chad Daybell’s trial could last eight to 10 weeks.
