Irate McDonald’s Customer Guns Down Lawyer Who Intervened in Dispute With Staff

A Houston-area attorney was shot dead outside a McDonald’s Saturday when he tried to calm an angry customer but shoved him to the ground.

The customer, who had already turned his ire to 46-year-old Jeffrey Limmer as the dispute moved from inside the restaurant to the parking lot, went to his blue Ford pickup truck, got his gun, and shot the attorney, KTRK reported.

The customer fled the scene. It’s not known if police have identified him, but they said he has not been located.

The dispute began inside when the customer became angry about his order and demanded a refund. Limmer reportedly tried to calm him, which only made the man focus on a new target.

Limmer’s sister, Jennifer Thomas, said her brother lived near the fast food restaurant and went there often, and that he frequently could be found trying to help others.

“A good Samaritan who is trying to do the right thing and not letting those employees at McDonalds go through that,” Thomas said.

Thomas said that their parents were at her daughter’s graduation ceremony when they learned of Limmer’s death.

Limmer worked for the Houston law firm of Lewis Brisbois and attended the University of Texas at Austin and South Texas College of Law, KHOU reported.
