An Indiana man was arrested weeks after he and his father were allegedly involved in the shooting of another man after an argument about money.

Donnie Abney III, 22, was accused of murder by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police in connection with the April 17 shooting death of Forrest Tab Grant, 62. According to court records obtained by local Fox affiliate WXIN, Donnie Abney III — known to friends and family as “Little Donnie — was involved in an altercation with Grant along with his father, Donnie Abney Jr. — known to friends and family as “Big Donnie” — that ended with Grant being shot in the back, allegedly by “Little Donnie.”

According to court documents, police spoke to nine witnesses who pointed the finger at “Little Donnie” as the alleged gunman after they said they saw the two older men arguing at a bus stop. “Little Donnie,” as he also referred to in the court documents, then entered the discussion and joined his father’s side in the argument.

At some point during the verbal altercation, “Little Donnie” allegedly pulled a gun on Grant, but didn’t fire. When Grant turned his back on the father-son duo and walked away, that was when “Little Donnie” allegedly shot Grant in the back.

Both Abney men then ran from the scene. Grant was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
