‘I Was Tempted by a Harlot’: Killer Chris Watts Pens Letters to God in Prison, Claims Wife and ‘Evil Women’ Drove Him to Murder

Letters reportedly written by convicted killer Chris Watts from prison blame the women in his life for his actions, including the 2018 murders of his pregnant wife and two daughters.

NewsNation reports that DailyMail obtained letters in which Watts addresses God, describing women as the cause of his downfall.

In one letter, Watts referred to his mistress, Nichol Kessinger, writing, “I was misled, I was tempted by a harlot. I was weak, and I allowed myself to be fooled by an evil woman. She led me from the path of righteousness. I know that you will deal with her someday.”

“She will be judged. You know my heart, Lord. I am a man after your heart, I seek your face. I allowed her to sway me.”

Kessinger has previously stated that she believed Chris Watts was in the process of divorcing his wife. She contacted police in 2018 after learning that Shannan Watts and her two children, Bella Marie Watts and Celeste Cathryn “CeCe” Watts, disappeared while the family lived in Colorado.

Watts also referred to other unnamed women as “harlots,” “Jezebels,” and “whores,” and continued to deflect responsibility for his actions, according to the NewsNation report.

He also blamed his wife, Shannan, reportedly describing her as “domineering and self-absorbed.”

Watts is serving multiple life sentences without parole at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin. He pleaded guilty in 2018 to murdering Shannan, 4-year-old Bella, and 3-year-old Celeste, along with unlawful termination of a pregnancy.

Autopsy results showed Shannan, pregnant at the time, was strangled, while the children were smothered. He buried their bodies at an oil site owned by his former employer.

Despite the murders, Watts reportedly continues to correspond with women in hopes of finding a new wife.
