‘I don’t know who you are’: Michael Jordan’s son name-drops dad, briefly sings ‘Eye of the Tiger’ during DUI arrest over car stuck on train tracks, bodycam shows

The son of basketball legend Michael Jordan name-dropped his famous dad several times during his arrest for DUI, cocaine possession, and allegedly resisting officers without violence. In the approximately hourlong body camera, Marcus James Jordan, 34, tried to recruit officers’ help in pushing his stranded car off train tracks, insisted he was OK to drive, maintained he did nothing wrong, said he had only made a wrong turn to what he believed was the highway, and sometimes outright berated them, even claiming they wouldn’t have arrested him if he wasn’t Black.

After officers arrested him, he sang along to songs on the patrol vehicle’s radio, including, briefly, “Eye of the Tiger.”

“You brought in Marcus Jordan,” he said, referring to himself in the third person.

“Are you popular or something?” an officer asked, later adding, “I don’t know who you are, man.”

Officers in the Orlando-area city of Maitland said they encountered Jordan’s car stuck on train tracks in the early hours of Tuesday.

“My car’s a little stuck right now,” he said on video. He and the woman sitting in the vehicle initially hesitated to step out but eventually complied after police told them that a train was headed their way. Jordan repeatedly insisted officers could help push the car off the tracks.
