A body has been found near a highway in Sydney‘s southwest, with police investigating whether it is that of a hit and run victim.
They say the human remains were found on Wednesday afternoon on the Hume Highway near Campbelltown.
It is feared thousands of motorists may have driven over parts of the body before the tragedy was discovered.
On Monday, a truck driver reported hitting something large on the road.
