The son of a former high-powered Hollywood agent has been formally charged with the murders of his wife and in-laws.
Samuel Bond Haskell IV, 35, was arrested earlier this month for suspicion of murder after a homeless man found the dismembered torso of a woman in a garbage bin in Encino, about six miles from the home where Haskell lived with 37-year-old Mei Haskell, the couple’s three young children, and her parents, 72-year-old Gaoshan Li and 64-year-old Yanxiang Wang.
Since then, videos have emerged showing laborers hauling off large bags from Haskell’s property — and then returning them to the house — and Haskell pulling an ungainly bag out of the back of his car and tossing it in the garbage bin when the torso was later found, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Haskell hired four laborers on November 7 to haul away “several heavy black plastic trash bags” from his home. After driving a short distance away, one of the laborers opened a bag and saw body parts. They called 911 and reported the incident, but by the time police arrived at Haskell’s home, they saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Shortly after the laborers dropped the bags back at Haskell’s home, he was seen on video putting a large bag into a bin on Ventura Boulevard. The next day, the torso was discovered.

Haskell was arrested that day and ordered held without bond while detectives continued their investigation.
On Monday, he was charged with three counts of murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders. His arraignment has been continued to December 8.
Investigators have not yet provided an identity for the remains found in the bag or said if other remains have been located.
The couple’s children were at school on November 7 and are now safe with familiy members.
Haskell’s father, Samuel Haskell III, repped such celebrities as Dolly Parton, George Clooney, and Ray Romano during his storied career at the William Morris agency.
