HEAR IT: 911 Call Reveals New Details on Murder-Suicide of Beloved Utah Couple

A 911 call obtained by Utah’s ABC 4 is shedding light on the events leading up to the deaths of an American Fork couple found dead in their home.

On June 20, around 12:40 p.m., American Fork Police officers in Utah were dispatched to the area of 1400 North and 80 East, following the 911 call.

The following exchange captures the moment the caller informed dispatch about discovering the bodies.

Caller: “I think my dad killed my mom, but then he killed himself.”

Dispatch: “Are they beyond help?”

Caller: “I, yeah. Yes.”

Dispatch: “Do you see any weapons?”

Caller: “Yes. There is a gun.”

The day after the discovery, police identified the couple as Olin Johnson, 57, and his wife, Kerilyn Johnson, 52. On June 21, authorities classified their deaths as a murder-suicide.

Investigators believe Olin Johnson shot and killed Kerilyn Johnson before taking his own life.

According to FOX News Digital, a relative found their bodies and called 911.

There were no indications of a struggle, according to police. The couple had been married for over 30 years and had children ranging in age from their late teens to adulthood.
