Two people are dead after a murder suicide on a California highway on Saturday.
The Fresno Bee reported that a woman called police earlier on Saturday to say that her 30-year-old boyfriend had threatened to kill her, the Fresno Bee reported. The two were in the process of separating, the paper said.
California Highway Patrol said the man later showed up at a family party in Fresno at the girlfriend’s family home.
He fired at a car carrying the former girlfriend and her 28-year-old sister, then drove off. The sisters followed him.
The shooter pulled off Highway 41 near Ashlan Avenue and again began shooting at the car. The sister, driving the other car, pulled off behind him. He got out of the car and fired 10 rounds into the windshield, killing the sister.

The ex-girlfriend was not struck by bullets, KFSN reported.
The gunman sped off again, and police located him about an hour later four blocks from where the fatal shooting took place. According to the Bee, he pulled over and shot himself as an officer approached his car.
Investigators have not released the names of those involved.
