Gunman Who Killed 3 Family Members in Pennsylvania Captured in New Jersey

Andre Gordon is accused of killing his stepmother, sister, and the mother of his children.

A 26-year-old man accused of killing three people in Pennsylvania and fleeing to New Jersey on Saturday has been charged with multiple firearms counts and carjacking in Trenton, where he was captured after a lengthy hunt.

Andre Gordon Jr. was charged with carjacking, possession of a weapon for uplawful purposes, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a firearm without a serial number, receiving stolen property, possession of large-capacity ammunition magazines, and possession of hollow-point ammunition by New Jersey authorities, according to Levitttown Now.

As CrimeOnline reported, Gordon allegedly stole a car and drove to Falls Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he allegedly shot his stepmother and teenage sister to death just before 9 a.m. Then he drove to another home and shot the mother of his children and beat her mother with his assault rifle.

After the third murder, he allegedly carjacked a Honda CRV from a nearby Dollar General store and drove across the Delaware River to Trenton, where he was briefly inside a home but escaped before police could establish a perimeter, according to WPVI. He was later captured, at about 5 p.m., out on a street.

“The suspect was actually walking on New York Avenue,” Trenton police director Steve Wilson said. “He was stopped and identified and taken into custody.”

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office told Levittown Now that Gordon will be facing at least 32 charges there, including first- and second-degree murder, burglary, aggravated assault, robbery of a vehicle, unlawful restratin, and reckless endangerment.

Gordon’s shooting victims were identified as Karen Gordon, 52, Kera Gordon, 13, and Taylor Daniel, 25. At the Gordon home, he allegedly hunted for three other family members, including another teen, who were at the home at the time but successfully hid from him.

“The string of violent acts that took place yesterday, allegedly at the hands of a single armed individual, alarmed and terrorized communities in Bucks and Mercer counties,” said New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin. “It is the latest in a horrific litany of illustrations of how illegal guns and assault rifles can empower one aggrieved and disturbed actor to do immense damage and leave a trail of tragedies in their wake.”

Bucks County officials will be working with their New Jersey counterparts to extradite Gordon back across the river to face the Pennsylvania charges.

“We’ve been in constant contact with Bucks County authorities and will work expeditiously to ensure that Andre Gordon is returned to Pennsylvania to face his murder charges,” Mercer County, New Jersey, Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said.
