Samantha and Aric Hutchinson at wedding

A South Carolina bride killed by an alleged drunk driver just hours after her wedding told her new husband that night she hoped the night would never end.

That was the last thing Aric Hutchinson, 36, remembers his new wife, 24-year-old Samantha Miller, saying before he woke up in a hospital room, Hutchinson told ABC’s “Good Morning America” in his first interview since the tragic April 28 crash.

“I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. That night, going from an all-time high to an all-time low, it’s pretty rough to try to comprehend,” Hutchinson said.

Hutchinson said he doesn’t remember the crash but woke up asking, “Where’s Sam?”

“That’s when [my mother] told me there’s an incident and that Sam didn’t make it,” he said.

Hutchinson suffered two broken legs with broken bones in his face and back along with brain bleeds and multiple lacerations. Two other family members in the street legal golf cart were also injured.

The newlyweds left their reception in Folly Beach around 10 p.m. after the wedding, as CrimeOnline has reported. They hadn’t gone far when Jamie Lee Komoroski smashed into them. Komoroski reportedly “strongly refused” a field sobriety test, and a blood test showed her blood alcohol level at three times the legal limit. She has been charged with negligent homicide and DUI involving death, while her attorneys have urged the public to refrain from “a rush to judgement.”

Hutchinson on Wednesday filed a civil suit against Komoroski, the bars where she was allegedly drinking that night, and her employer. The lawsuit includes Ben Garrett, who was driving the golf cart at the time of the crash; his son Brogan, who was sitting beside him; and his wife Alexis as plaintiffs.

Hutchinson told “Good Morning America” he wasn’t ready to talk about Komoroski.

“I can’t right now,” he said. “I’d like to. I mean, she stole an amazing human being that should not have been taken.”
