A North Carolina cop got slapped with a criminal charge this week for allegedly threatening her neighbor — telling the woman she was “going to f— her up” and reveal personal information about her “because she is the police,” according to court records.

Jazmin Featherstone, 26, is charged with communicating threats, a misdemeanor, following the Tuesday incident, according to her criminal summons and criminal affidavit, which were filed in Mecklenburg County.

Featherstone, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer who was off duty at the time, is accused of threatening a woman shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday after the woman got into a dispute with Featherstone and her mother over mail, the department and victim report. A member of Featherstone”s family allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim during the confrontation, according to CMPD officials.

Cops say they arrived at an address in the 5000 block of Pinebrook Drive after getting an “assault with a deadly weapon (no injury)” call and identified Featherstone as the alleged aggressor. “The 911 caller reported being threatened by a female,” the criminal summons says.

For the affidavit, the victim was asked to write out what Featherstone did to her, with the woman saying, “Threaten to ‘f— me up,’ and to reveal things about me because she is the police.” She told cops that Featherstone “threatened to file a civil suit” against her “because she alleged I stole their mail,” according to the affidavit, and that Featherstone was “menacing” her.

“All unprovoked,” the victim alleged.

Explaining why Featherstone did this, the woman wrote that “her mom told her to” and that the pair accused her of trespassing on their property following an alleged incident over a mailbox post, the affidavit says.

“I attempted to erect a mailbox post on the right of way,” the victim recounts in the affidavit.

Featherstone’s mother was allegedly with the off-duty officer when she made the threats Tuesday, according to the victim, but it’s unclear whether she was the family member who pointed a firearm at the woman. Police did not immediately respond to Law&Crime’s requests for comment Thursday.

“The criminal charge filed against Officer Featherstone is concerning,” said CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings in a statement Wednesday. “Our department holds all officers to the highest standards of conduct, on and off duty. We will not tolerate actions that compromise public trust or the integrity of this agency. Officers are held to the same laws they are sworn to uphold, and we remain committed to accountability.”
