Georgia Steel’s mother has opened up about her daughter’s love life, explaining that the reality star ‘has a guard up’ after being defrauded.
The Love Island contestant, 25, is currently back in the villa for the All Stars series, after first appearing on the ITV2 show in 2018.
Her mum, Sharon, explained that Georgia has ‘matured massively’ in part due to her negative experiences since the show.
The reality star was left ‘devastated’ after being swindled out of thousands of pounds by her conman ex-boyfriend Medi Abalimba.
Georgia was aged just 21 when she met Medi, while he was posing as a US Government agent ‘Miguel Johnson’ at a London nightclub in April 2019.

The fraudster was once a promising £1.2million footballer but later turned to crime to fund his lifestyle when his sports career ended.
Medi only been released from prison for a year when he targeted Georgia and the pair dated for six weeks, until a paparazzi shot of the pair led to her manager discovering he was really a convicted fraudster.
However, by then Medi had already spent around £32,000 on Georgia’s credit cards, leaving her physically sick.
Speaking about how the ordeal had changed her, Sharon told OK! Magazine: ‘Georgia has really found herself in the last few years and matured massively. Unfortunately, the experiences she’s had haven’t been the best, especially with the fraudster.
‘All of that has made her grow up a lot, maybe even too fast. Being defrauded has knocked her trust in people. She’s very wary and can’t really trust anyone since.
‘It isn’t a bad thing, because it builds character and means she won’t let something like that happen again. But it’s also a shame to be worrying about who you can trust. She has a guard up.’
Sharon also revealed what she thinks about Georgia’s romantic interests in the villa, confessing who she wants her to end up with.
The beauty is currently caught up in a love triangle with both Tom Clare and Callum Jones, after cutting things off with former partner Toby Aromolaran.

Sharon said she hoped Georgia wouldn’t return to Toby, because he was a ‘bit of a Jack The Lad’ and admitted she was surprised that Georgia was so pleased to see Tom come in.
Giving her two cents, Sharon said: ‘Taking Tom out of the equation, I would pick Callum for Georgia. I think he’s very chilled and genuine, which she is too. I think he comes across as a really lovely guy.’
She added that Georgia’s brother was also a fan of Callum, which she said was ‘rare’ but that she worried deep down her daughter was scared Callum would go back to his ex Molly Smith.
However, when asked who Georgia would want to come in as a bombshell, Sharon revealed: ‘She would love for Ovie Soko to come in. He’s so chilled and I think they’d get on really well. Also, I feel like they have things in common, because Georgia likes her fashion and high-end clothes, which Ovie models.’
Georgia’s head is currently in a complete spin, as she continues to make romantic admissions to both Callum and Tom.
Following a game of truth or dare with their other Islanders during Friday’s episode, Georgia and Tom held their own private version around the fire pit.
Tom didn’t hold back as he asked Georgia: ‘Would you rather be with Callum or me?’
Admitting she would rather be with Tom, she replied: ‘I think my impulse would be you because I think there’s a connection we share.’

Leaning in so only Tom can hear, she whispered: ‘I fancy you the most.’
Georgia and Tom’s flirtation was interrupted by a text, as Georgia Harrison revealed that the Hideaway was open for one couple.
The Islanders immediately picked Callum and Georgia as the first couple to spend a night alone together in the hideaway retreat.
Things got hot and steamy between the two as they explored their connection in the ultimate romantic setting.
Despite telling Tom earlier in the evening that she was most drawn to him, her emotions appeared to change as she later confided in Callum, telling him: ‘This is so good. Do you know what Cal, I honestly wouldn’t want to be in here with anyone else.’

The following morning, Georgia asked Tom to chat on the terrace and said she ‘couldn’t fight’ that she fancied him and said she couldn’t ‘imagine having sex with Callum’.
She only complicated thing further in Monday’s game of Snog, Marry, Pie, where she brazenly chose Tom to marry.
She said: ‘I’m gonna marry Tom because I think he’s lovely, his morals are really in order and I think you’d make a lovely husband.’
However, she also chose to kiss Callum, saying: ‘I decided to kiss Cal because I really, really fancy him. I think he’s super wise and I feel like he’s the full package.’
