Fugitive Child Rapist Caught in Thailand

A man wanted for raping a young child in Oklahoma was arrested last month by police in Thailand.

The Oklahoma City Police Department said it enlisted the aid of the US Marshals Service earlier in the summer to find Kyle Mayes, 30. Investigators received a tip that Mayes had fled the country, possibly to the southeast Asian nation.

In July, Royal Thai Police found Mayes and took him into custody. He was extradited to the United States on Friday, and will eventually be brought back to Oklahoma City, where he faces eight charges of raping a young child.

No further information was made available.
