“Friends,” which ran for a solid decade before its run ended, won six Emmys and rocked the Nielsen ratings for nearly the entire time it was on the air (via Brittanica). The show continues to maintain its hold on American popular culture, and a big reason for this is its ensemble of charming and hilarious characters — and the actors who portrayed them.
Though Perry may be best known for his turn on “Friends,” he had a lot of other acting credits under his belt, including films like “Fools Rush In,” “Almost Heroes,” and “The Whole Nine Yards.”

Perry released a memoir last year titled “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir.” In the book, he revealed that he’d experienced years of substance abuse, and had a serious hospitalization in 2018 due to a burst colon (via Yahoo!).
Matthew Perry will be sorely missed.
