Police in Georgia announced Monday that a missing special needs girl who disappeared months ago is now home safe.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Kaylee Jones, 16, was last seen near Whooping Creek Church Road in Carrollton on June 14, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Her parents, Daniel and Brenda Jones, previously told police they told their daughter goodnight, but the following day she was gone.

Although the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and return home are unknown at this time, Carrollton police say that investigation will continue.

“This continues to be a very active and fluid investigation and no further details will be released at this time due to the sensitive nature of the case,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook. “However, let us focus and be grateful and thankful that this young lady is SAFE!!”

This is a developing story and will be updated as additional information becomes available.
