A former NFL player was sued by a New York woman who accused him of intentionally infecting her with a sexually transmitted disease.
Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Eric Moulds was named in a lawsuit by a woman — who Law&Crime is not identifying — who claimed that the NFL star pursued a sexual relationship with her, allegedly knowing that he had herpes, which has no cure. The lawsuit alleges Moulds did this to several other women and specifically “targeted single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York.”
According to the lawsuit filed on Dec. 10, Moulds began contacting the woman on Instagram back in 2018. In December 2023, their exchanges moved into text messages that eventually evolved into a “long-term romantic relationship.” Moulds apparently offered up his services as an athletic trainer and paid for the woman to travel from her home in upstate New York to his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. But rather than engage in any fitness training, the two “developed a sexual relationship.”
The woman later made several more trips down south to see Moulds at his expense.
By November 2023, the pair had their last documented sexual encounter, which the lawsuit states was “unprotected.” The woman began experiencing symptoms in December 2023 and later tested positive for herpes simplex virus type 2, which can be treated but not cured.
Since the woman had been exclusively seeing Moulds, she concluded that she contracted the disease from him, but he allegedly never disclosed that he had an STD.

The woman also learned that Moulds had a “pregnant fiancée with whom he had been in a relationship for eight years.” The fiancee told the alleged victim that “she should get tested for sexually transmitted diseases because she, along with other women whom Defendant had relationships with, had been transmitted diseases by him,” according to the lawsuit.
“Plaintiff subsequently learned that Defendant had also engaged with multiple women besides Plaintiff via social media. Based upon information and belief, Defendant targeted single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York,” the lawsuit states.
The lawsuit claims that Moulds “was also sued by several women for knowingly spreading herpes over a decade ago” and paid them for their silence. He allegedly made them sign nondisclosure agreements as well. The woman suing Moulds now also claimed to have been offered payment in exchange for dropping her lawsuit and “buy her silence.”
Based on the numerous previous lawsuits, the lawsuit alleged that Moulds “intentionally” infected multiple women with herpes.
Moulds is being sued for negligence and intentional causes of action, failure to disclose, and infliction of emotional distress.
Frank LoTempio III, the attorney representing Moulds, told Law & Crime, “We are in the process of gathering information and responding to the complaint, which we will vigorously defend. I will have more information and comments once the litigation process starts.”
Law & Crime also reached out to the woman’s attorney, Kevin Stocker, but did not get an immediate response.
