Florida Woman Arrested After Releasing Dogs on Utility Employees, Deputy

A 28-year-old Florida woman was arrested this week on multiple charges after she allegedly sicced her dogs on utility company employees and a sheriff’s deputy who responded to their  911 call.

Two Duke Energy employees were at the home of Tiffany Perkins, investigating the possible theft of utilities there, when she allegedly released her dogs at them, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy responded to the utility employees’ call and began speaking with Perkins, but then for some unknown reason she called 911. The deputy moved to arrest her, but was attacked by a great Dane. Additional deputies responded, and Perkins was arrested.

Investigators quickly determined that Perkins was stealing electricity after the power had been shut off to her home.

Polk County Animal Control responded and took the Dane that attacked the deputy into custody, along with a second Dane who “was in extremely poor health.”

Perkins was charged with aggravated battery on law enforcement, aggravated assault on law enforcement, two counts of aggravated assault, resisiting with violence, resisting without violence, theft of utility services, petit theft, trespass, conveyance, animal cruelty, open septic, nuisance injurious to health, burning prohibited materials, waste tire disposal, misuse of 911, and unpermitted landfill.
