On Monday, the jury in Georgia murder suspect Leilani Simon trial learned about the extensive search for her 20-month-old son, Quinton Simon.

Prosecutors allege that Simon killed her son in 2022 and discarded his body in a dumpster. After weeks of searching, police found his remains in a nearby landfill over a month later, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

The jury in Leilani Simon’s murder trial heard on Monday about the large-scale effort to locate her 20-month-old son, Quinton Simon, ABC 22 reports.

Prosecutors accused Simon of killing her son in 2022 and disposing of his body in a dumpster. Police discovered the child’s remains at a nearby landfill more than a month after an extensive search.

Media cameras turned away as Solomon reviewed photos of Quinton’s remains and explained the images to the jury. She described how the remains found at the landfill were transported to the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia.

“We arranged private transport for Quinton,” Solomon said. “I wrapped the box and drove him to Macon.”

Quinton’s remains were taken to Atlanta and flown on an FBI aircraft to Quantico, where they were positively identified at the FBI lab.
