Father & Son Arrested in Connection With October Murder of Woman the Father Had Dated

A southeast Georgia father and son have been charged with the death of a 34-year-old mother who was gunned down in front of her house in October.

Tracy Bryant Sr., 53, and Tracy Bryant Jr., 30, were arrested on Thursday on drug charges when a search warrant served in Waycross in relation to the murder turned up illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to jail records and WJAX, which said the father-son duo had also been charged with felony murder and malice murder, although those charges have not shown up in online jail records.

Police records say the younger Bryant drove his father to the home of Kimberly Guess on October 17, where he shot her multiple times.

Bryant Sr. was Guess’s former supervisor at Clayton Homes in Waycross. They dated for a time while they both worked there, then broke up, Blackshear Police said.

Guess’s mother, Shirley Lee, said he had been stalking her.

“She told him that Tuesday before she died that she wanted him to leave her alone and to stop stalking her. He didn’t understand that, and then, that Thursday morning happened,” Lee said.

Guess’s familiy said they had long suspected the elder Bryant of involvement in Guess’s death but were surprised to learn the son was involved.

Court documents say Bryant Jr. drover his father to Guess’s home, where he shot her multiple times and then fled the scene.

According to jail records, the Bryants are being held without bond in Ware County.  The murder charges are likely to be filed in Pierce County, where Blackshear is located.
