Surveillance footage reportedly showed two brothers hours before their bodies were discovered on a Georgia mountain in March.
WAGA reported that Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, 19, were filmed at a Shell gas station in Lawrenceville on the night of March 7. The brothers, who were seen eating snacks and drinking water before leaving the store, were found fatally shot on Bell Mountain on March 8.
Qaadir and Naazir Lewis’ aunt told WAGA that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation showed the surveillance footage to the twins’ mother. The family has disputed Towns County police’s preliminary determination that the teens’ deaths were a case of murder-suicide.
“I know that something happened to them. I know that they were murdered,” the aunt commented.
The brothers were scheduled to fly to Boston, Massachusetts, on March 7, but they never made their flight. Their airline tickets were in their wallets when their bodies were discovered the next day, according to reports.
Family members said the 19-year-olds had never been near where their bodies were found, which is 90 miles from home.
Days after Qaadir and Naazir Lewis’ were found dead on the mountain, Towns County volunteer firefighter Scott Kerlin, 42, was arrested for taking and sharing photos from the scene.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has not handed down an official ruling in this case as forensic tests are pending.
