A 70-year-old Alabama woman was shot and killed Wednesday night when she answered a knock at the door of her Selma home.

Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford told the Selma Times-Journal that the incident took place at about 10:30 p.m.

“Some unknown subject or subjects knocked on the door of 70-year-old Mandy White, and when she responded, she was shot and killed,” Fulford said.

Fulford said investigators have no suspects but that “detectives are out … canvassing the area trying to make contact with anybody that might have had cameras in the area,” Alabama News reported.

“Right now we’re asking anyone who have information or saw anything to help us get these criminals behind bars,” the chief said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Selma Police at (334) 874-2125.
