According to News 4, 18-year-old Trinity Madison Poague was arrested in Americus on charges that include felony murder, aggravated battery, and cruelty to children charges. It’s currently unclear how the defendant knew the victim.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was contacted on January 14 in response to a toddler who was taken to the Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus. According to police, the victim passed away upon arrival at the hospital.

“The investigation indicates an unresponsive 18-month-old boy was admitted to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia,” GBI said in a statement Saturday. “After multiple interviews & an examination of the evidence, GBI agents arrested Poague.”
