Police in Wisconsin are searching for the father of a 12-year-old boy whose malnourished and decomposing body was found in his home last Tuesday.
On Saturday, Romuan J. Moye was charged with chronic neglect resulting in death and great bodily harm in Jacarie Robinson’s apparent homicide. Robinson was so malnourished when he was found in Milwaukee that the medical examiner has been unable to positively identify him, according to WDJT.
WTMJ reported that Robinson — whose body was described as “malnourished” and “decomposing” — was discovered wrapped in a blanket. The home he was found dead in allegedly reeked of feces, mold, and decay.
Robinson was reportedly the only child in Moye’s care, though he has three children. The medical examiner said he had been dead for at least a week but his disappearance went far back as Labor Day, according to WTMJ.
A witness told investigators that they spoke to Moye outside the home three to four days before his son’s body was discovered. The witness claimed Moye was acting “abnormal” and that they never went inside or saw Moye’s son. The witness also stated that Moye claimed he was dying of cancer and “does not have long to live,” according to WITI.

The witness said the family had not seen Robinson in months because Moye claimed he had been bad. The witness said she last saw Robinson on his birthday in August — recalling that he looked “extremely skinny” and that he responded “no” when asked if he was OK, WITI reported.
The witness alleged that Moye became increasingly evasive in the week leading up to the discovery of Robinson’s body. Two days before police got involved, the witness reportedly went to Moye’s home and asked for him to come out. The witness went inside after nobody responded and was taken aback by an odor. WITI reported that they discovered Robinson’s body after searching the home a second time.
Per the news outlet, an autopsy determined that Robinson weighed 54 pounds and that he had a broken right leg that was in the process of healing. He reportedly also had fractures to his left leg and two ribs.
Moye is also charged with failing to report Robinson’s death. Robinson’s cause of death remains unclear.
