Accused Delphi Child Killer’s Defense Plans to Persuade Judge Odinist Cult Committed Murders, Trial Looms

The trial of Richard Allen in Delphi, Indiana, resumed on Wednesday with ongoing testimony after witnesses failed to definitely prove that a man seen in a video near the crime scene was the suspect.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Allen stands accused of the murder of two girls who disappeared on February 13, 2017, and were discovered deceased the following day near the Monon High Bridge in Carroll County.

Police arrested Allen in 2022, five years after the murders. He now faces charges of two counts of murder and two counts of murder while kidnapping in connection to the deaths of Abigail “Abby” Williams, 13, and Liberty “Libby” German.

Indy Star reports that on Tuesday, jurors were shown the notorious “Bridge Guy” video. This marked the first instance where prosecutors presented footage depicting a man, believed to be Allen, trailing the victims shortly before their deaths.

Also on Tuesday, witness Sarah Carbaugh testified that on the afternoon of February 13, 2017, she drove along County Road 300 North near the entrance of the Monon High Bridge trail. Carbaugh decided to survey the trail’s usage.

At around 4 p.m., Carbaugh said she saw a group of people appearing distressed at the trail entrance. Subsequently, while traveling east on the county road, she passed by a man.

“I saw a man covered in mud in blood,” she testified.

Carbaugh said he appeared “sketchy” and never made eye contact with her.

Two other witnesses identified ‘Bridge Guy’ from a video screenshot, but their descriptions of the man seen differed from both the video image and the defendant.

The trial continues. Check back for updates.
