‘Defendants are simply idiots’: 3-year-old killed in ‘outrageous’ group shooting orchestrated by woman who was mad at her neighbor

A group of “idiots” in Ohio are heading to prison for killing a 3-year-old in an “outrageous” shooting attack that was orchestrated by a woman who was mad at her neighbor, according to prosecutors.

Katherine Treadway, Juan Davis, Devonte Parker and Jayden Sorensen were all sentenced Tuesday for the death of toddler Luis Diaz in Cleveland on Sept. 28, 2023, according to local NBC affiliate WKYC. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced two of their convictions in a press release last week, with Treadway and Sorensen both accepting plea deals, while Davis and Parker were found guilty by a Cuyahoga County jury.

Treadway confessed to unleashing Davis, her boyfriend, and the others on a neighbor who shared a duplex with her at West 66th Street and Denison Avenue. She said Davis and the others arrived at her residence with multiple guns, including a rifle, and opened fire on a vehicle that the neighbor was getting in. Davis was the getaway driver while Parker and Sorensen were the shooters. The neighbor was shot and injured, but survived. He had an 11-month-old in the car with him as well, who was not harmed.
