The boyfriend of a San Francisco tech worker found brutally slain in her apartment has been charged in connection with her death.
San Francisco police conducted a well-being check on Nov. 30 at an apartment in the Presidio Heights neighborhood and found 27-year-old Kimberly Wong dead. Police took her boyfriend Scott Fisher, 29, into custody on Dec. 7 and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office filed formal murder charges against him Monday.
“I offer my condolences to the victim’s friends and family and my unwavering commitment to pursuing justice in the courtroom,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “Although there is nothing we can do to bring her back, we will do everything we can to ensure there is accountability and justice.”
Prosecutors said Fisher used a knife to kill Wong. They did not divulge a motive for the murder. Wong and Fisher were dating and lived together in the home where she was found dead. Fisher was taken to jail where he’s being held without bond. If convicted, he faces 26 years to life in prison.

According to her LinkedIn page, Wong worked as a product designer for Plaid, a financial services company, since 2021. She worked for the cybersecurity company Slunk for about 4 years before that. Wong attended the University of Washington.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of Kimberly Wong’s passing and we extend our heartfelt condolences and support to Kimberly’s loved ones during this difficult time. Kimberly was a hardworking, dedicated employee and will be missed,” Splunk said in a statement to San Francisco CBS affiliate KPIX.
On her website, she said when not working she enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, cooking, doing yoga and biking. Fisher, who attended the University of California at Berkeley, also worked in the tech industry, his LinkedIn profile says.
