Nathan Chasing Horse mugshot

“Dances With Wolves” actor, Nathan Chasing Horse, will remain behind bars without bail until his next hearing, after allegedly sexually abusing Indigenous girls while leading a cult, a judge said at the North Las Vegas court Thursday.

CBS News reports that Horse, 46, is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault against a child younger than 16, sex trafficking, and child abuse. He was arrested earlier this month at his Las Vegas home that he “shares with his five wives.”

According to court documents, Chasing Horse’s arrest followed an investigation that reportedly lasted over two decades, investigators said. He’s allegedly the leader of The Circle cult, which has a large following who believe he talks to higher powers.

Investigators said Chasing Horse abused his powers by sexually assaulting girls and having underage wives. A search warrant obtained by AP News indicated that he also trained his wives to use guns and “shoot it out” if police bothered them. If the plan failed, Chasing Horse allegedly ordered them to take “suicide pills.”

Inside Chasing Horse’s ranch, investigators allegedly found a memory card with numerous sexual assault videos, as well as psilocybin mushrooms and 41 pounds of marijuana. At least six of the sexual assaults involved minor children, court documents state.

Investigators said one of Chasing Horse’s wives was offered to him as a “gift” when she was 15, while another victim became his wife when she turned 16.

New York Post reports that Chasing Horse declined to speak during the hearing, even when the judge said “good morning” to him. He’s expected to appear in court Monday for a full bail hearing.
