Lori Vallow Daybell was indicted on Tuesday in Arizona for conspiring to kill her niece’s husband in 2019, the same year she murdered her two children and plotted the death of her husband’s then-wife.
Brandon Bourdeaux was shot in Maricopa County in October 2019 — two weeks before Vallow Daybell’s current husband’s wife, Tammy Daybell, was killed in Idaho. The Independent reported that he was returning home from the gym when shots were fired from a Jeep Wrangler with its back spare tire removed.
Vallow Daybell’s current husband and brother, Chad Daybell and Alex Cox, were allegedly filmed at a storage facility in Idaho removing a spare tire a day before the shooting. Location data also indicated that Cox had traveled from Gilbert, Idaho, to Maricopa County, Arizona, in early October.
Per to the indictment, Vallow & her late brother Alex Cox agreed that “at least one of them or another would engage in conduct constituting the offense of first degree premeditated murder” on 10/2/19. Vallow Daybell is also charged in Arizona with conspiring the death of her fourth husband Charles Vallow, who Cox fatally shot in July 2019. Cox, who claimed self-defense, died of reported natural causes in December 2019.
Months later, Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow disappeared in Idaho, and Vallow Daybell, their mother, never reported them missing. Weeks later in November, Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell got married in Hawaii. The children were found buried on Chad Daybell’s property in June 2020, nine months after they vanished.

On Friday, Vallow Daybell was convicted of killing her two children and Tammy Daybell. During her trial, prosecutors linked Cox to Tylee and J.J.’s slayings by presenting evidence that put his phone in the vicinity of where J.J.’s body was later found buried. Forensic experts also testified that Cox’s prints were on a bag containing J.J.’s body.
Maricopa County authorities previously said they plan to extradite Vallow Daybell to face charges in connection with Charles’ murder. However, that is expected to happen after Vallow Daybell is sentenced, which could take about three months as the judge completes a sentencing report.
