There is public outcry for help from Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney in the death of Ellen Greenberg. Greenberg, a teacher, was found brutally stabbed in her home. Initially, the case was ruled a homicide, but the medical examiner later changed the manner of death to suicide.
Greenberg was found dead by her fiancé Sam Goldberg in the kitchen of their Philadelphia apartment. She had 20 stab wounds, including 10 to the back of the head and neck. One wound was reportedly inflicted post-mortem.
Sandee and John Greenberg (Ellen’s parents) work tirelessly to have the case reopened. District Attorney Larry Krasner’s office referred the case to the Attorney General’s office, due to Krasner’s conflict of interest in the case. He represented the Greenbergs in the past. The Attorney General’s Office also appeared to have an “appearance of a conflict” of interest, as well over campaign donations.
The AG office says there is no actual conflict.
