‘Cornbread fed’ woman murdered man she met online, dumped his body in oil field

A woman has admitted to murdering a man she met online and dumping his body in a Mississippi oil field.

Sierra Inscoe, 22, was sentenced last week to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to the 2022 murder of 24-year-old Carson Sistrunk. She will have to spend 35 years behind bars before she is eligible for parole, according to a press release from the 15th Circuit Court District Attorney’s Office.

District Attorney Hal Kittrell said in a statement that he appreciated the work of law enforcement on the case.

“Thanks to their hard work, we were able to take a violent individual off the streets and show that there are severe consequences for those who do harm to others in Jefferson Davis County,” he said. “Though nothing can bring Mr. Sistrunk back, it is my sincere hope that family can find some closure in this resolution.”

Hattiesburg NBC/ABC affiliate WDAM reported that an oil worker noticed tire tracks and discovered Sistrunk’s body on Sept. 7, 2022. He had been shot to death. Sistrunk had been reported missing three days earlier from his home in Rankin County. Family members said he had planned to meet a woman — later identified as Inscoe — that he had met online. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation arrested Inscoe, who was driving Sistrunk’s Ford Raptor truck, a few days after the murder, the Prentiss Headlight reported.

She was charged with motor vehicle theft and authorities tacked on the murder charge.

The Daily Beast chronicled Inscoe’s troubled life leading up to the murder. Former friends told the outlet that Inscoe was known to swindle money from people and take their vehicles without permission. She even faked cancer to gain sympathy so she could live with someone rent-free and to be coddled, the Daily Beast reported.

Inscoe also reportedly had an OnlyFans account. She portrays herself as a country girl on her Facebook page.

“Cornbread fed,” she wrote. “I go fishing on the first date.”

Sistrunk’s obituary described him as a “best friend to many.”

“Carson loved fishing and hunting. As soon as he was old enough, he would strap on his holster and guns and head out on his bike to hunt,” the obituary read. “One of the highlights for Carson was in March of each year. He and his Dad would get the barrels ready for hand grabbing fish in May. He did not give a thought to the cold water; but would jump in the water to put the barrels out.”
