A 43-year-old man’s body has been found outside a home in Kendall, on the NSW mid-north-coast, near the site where police believe William Tyrrell’s body is buried.

NSW Police said a woman found the man outside a home on Batar Creek Road, Kendall on the NSW Mid North Coast and emergency services were called about 6.40pm.

Members of the public performed CPR, however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

Kendall – a small village of 1,141 people, not far from Port Macquarie – was the town where William Tyrrell, Australia’s most famous missing child, went missing in September 2014.

Police have taped off the house as a crime scene as they investigate the death, which happened at a share house just a two minute drive from section of Batar Creek Road which was the subject of an intense police search for William’s remains two years ago.

Neighbours told Daily Mail Australia the dead man had lived there with a woman and on Wednesday night, laughter and the screeching of car tyres from the house could be heard.

Police believe the remains of missing toddler William Tyrrell are buried at the other end of Batar Creek Road, a short drive from where he was last seen at Benaroon Drive, Kendall.

In late 2021, detectives and SES workers made extensive searches over four weeks along Batar Creek Road to locate missing William.

Detectives from Strike Force Rosann, which is investigating William’s disappearance, have told William Tyrrell’s foster mother: ‘We aren’t guessing. We aren’t bluffing. We know how, we know why, we know where he is.’

The woman, who cannot be identified, has strongly denied any knowledge of the toddler’s whereabouts or any link to William’s disappearance.

There is no suggestion of a link between his disappearance and the latest incident on Batar Creek Road.

Officers from the Mid North Coast have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

The house where the man died is closer into town than the location on the same street where police believe William is buried.
