Cops Hunt for Texas Teen, Her Boyfriend In Connection With Grandmother’s Death

Police in Texas are looking for a Galveston County teenager and her boyfriend in connection with the death of the girl’s grandmother.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said deputies conducted a welfare check on the grandmother Thursday night after a friend reported being unable to reach her. Deputies found her dead in the home with signs of foul play.

The sheriff’s office said that 17-year-old Tara King, the victim’s granddaughter, and King’s boyfriend, 18-year-old Uriah Ureck, were “persons of interest” and wanted for questioning.

The Galveston County Daily News said the victim had been identified as 61-year-old Tammy Sue King and that she had at least one gunshot wound.

Neighbors told KTRK the King raised the 17-year-old, a student at Dickinson High School, and that King and Ureck lived with the grandmother, who was said to be in her 60s. Neighbors also said no one had seen or spoken with the victim since Tuesday night.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Hudson with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office (409) 766-2322, select #2. You may also submit an anonymous tip to Galveston County Crime Stoppers online at P3tips.com or call (409) 763-8477.
