Woodbury police in Connecticut arrested a reverend Friday on charges of dealing crystal meth, along with other criminal offenses.

According to Connecticut State Police, Herbert Irving Miller, 63, was arrested on February 9 after police pulled him over while he drove with a suspended registration and without the minimum state-required vehicle insurance.

Police then discovered that he had “crystal methamphetamine in both rock and liquefied into a hypodermic needle prepared for injection” in his possession.

ABC 15 reports that Miller was appointed reverend at Woodbury United Methodist Church in July, but his entry has since been removed from the church’s website.

Police took Miller to the Troop L barracks in Litchfield and charged him with:

  • Possession with intent to sell
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance
  • Use of drug paraphernalia
  • Operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

State police said Miller posted a $10,000 surety bond. He’s scheduled for his next court appearance in Waterbury on February 23.

The story is developing. Check back for updates.
