YoungBoy Never Broke Again, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, found himself in trouble with the law in 2020. The rapper was arrested in Baton Rouge on drug and stolen firearm charges after he was found at an abandoned house while filming a music video. He was among several other individuals who are said to be a part of the street gangs “Never Broke Again” and “Bottom Boy Guerillas,” according to police reports. Police searched several vehicles at the scene to find three grams of marijuana, a dose of hydrocodone, as well as handguns and an AK-47. Large amounts of money were also discovered in their search, with NBA YoungBoy carrying $47,000 in cash at the time.
NBA YoungBoy was released from jail following the incident after posting a $75,000 bond. His problems were far from over, however, as he was arrested again in 2021 in a separate case on federal gun charges. Police pulled the rapper over on a warrant following a car chase and recovered a firearm, but YoungBoy NBA was later found not guilty of the crime in 2022. He still faces a gun charge in an ongoing case related to his arrest in 2020.

At the time of writing, the rapper is currently serving probation time in Salt Lake City for drug possession and stolen-firearm charges in connection to his arrest in Baton Rouge in 2020. He admitted to Billboard that the house arrest has afforded him plenty of time to record music, calling it “the best thing that ever happened to me.”
