A Massachusetts school bus driver has been charged with aggravated indecent assault and reckless endangerment of a child.
Barnstable Police arrested 80-year-old Jeffrey Hyland on Wednesday after receiving a report of the incident on a girl on the bus. Police said they recovered corroborating evidence.
Hyland was held over night on a $5,000 bail until his arraignment Friday morning, when prosecutors asked for a $10,000 bail. The judge declined bail altogether, instead giving Hyland a personal recognizance bond and ordering hims to have no contact with the victim and to wear a GPS monitor.
Hyland is employed by a contractor that provides bus service for the school district. Both the district and the contractor are cooperating with the investigation, WFXT reported.
