California Woman Found Dead in Arizona a Month After Disappearance

A California woman who disappeared a month ago has been found dead in Arizona.

Amanda Nenigar was last seen on February 28 in Blythe, California, and her car was found abandoned a week later in La Paz County, Arizona, a county where she reportedly had family, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

La Paz County Sheriff William Ponce said the car was found with its rear end “on a large boulder.”

Facebook posts from both her family and the La Paz County Sheriff’s office reported the discovery of her body but provided no further details.

“Late Friday evening Amanda Nenigar was located deceased,” the sheriff’s office said in a brief statement. “The family has been notified and issued a statement requesting privacy and thanked the public for their assistance in trying to locate Amanda. We ask that you please respect the family during this time and avoid spreading rumors and assumptions.”

“We have many questions and have been informed that her death is being investigated and an autopsy will follow,” the family said. “Our hearts are broken and we will miss her dearly. Please grant our family privacy as we mourn the loss of Amanda and prepare for the days ahead of us.”

The body was found by a search and rescue team about a mile and a half from where the car was found, AZFamily.com reported.
