California Father Beheads 1-Year-Old Infant After Wife Flees Home: Police

The father of a 1-year-old California boy has been arrested after he was found with his beheaded son.

Live 5 News reports that on Friday, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office was called to an early morning disturbance in the 7500 block of Versailles Way in North Sacramento County. Upon arrival, authorities found a woman outside who told them her husband, Andrey Demskiy, 28, had assaulted her and her mother.

Just after 4 a.m., Demskiy allegedly attacked both his wife and mother-in-law, causing the women to flee the home while waiting for the police to arrive.

Demskiy refused to answer the door. After learning that he was inside with his infant son and that he “possibly injured the child after throwing him,” the sheriff’s office said, “fearing for the child’s safety, deputies forced entry into the residence.”

As the officers took Demskiy into custody, they noticed his son’s head in the room. He allegedly decapitated the child with a knife after the women fled the home, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Demskiy was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. He is ineligible for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, according to Live 5 News.

Demskiy’s mother-in-law was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
