California investigators said a woman whose burning body was found hanging from a tree at a popular park may have taken her own life.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a passerby alerted rangers at Griffith Park after spotting a fire that was near a merry-go-round and the Los Angeles Zoo. Park rangers contacted the police, who discovered the body and determined the woman died of self-immolation.

Law enforcement retrieved the woman’s body from the tree. A detective said the body belongs to a “local transient,” the Los Angeles Times.

There is reportedly no evidence of fair play. Law enforcement has not publicly identified the decedent.
