Two men have died after their stolen car smashed into a power pole, with police finding two firearms inside the wreckage.
The fatal collision unfolded along Camp Road at Broadmeadows, in Melbourne’s north, at 5.30am on Tuesday.
The passenger died at the scene while the driver was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Victoria Police Major Crash Investigation Unit Detective Sergeant Daryll Out said the white Hyundai had been seen speeding at around 180km/hour early on Tuesday by bystanders and police.

‘When this crash happened, the speed was estimated to be well in excess of 100km/h,’ he said.
‘It had the potential to be absolutely disastrous for anyone in the vicinity.
‘It’s extremely worrying to police that we have got that kind of behaviour (being displayed) throughout the evening.’
A sawn-off shotgun and another firearm were found inside the car following the crash, with Detective Sergeant Out describing the discovery as ‘extremely disturbing’.

Camp Road is currently closed between Blair Street and Maygar Boulevard with officers on scene directing traffic.
Detective Sergeant Out said the Hyundai had been stolen from Moama, near the Victoria and NSW border, in December.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the crash.
