A woman has died after suffering burns to 90 per cent of her body in a house fire allegedly started by her son. 

Nerol Doble, 65, was injured in the blaze on Bribbaree Road at Bribbaree, in the South West Slopes of NSW, at 12pm on Sunday.

Emergency services airlifted the woman to Royal North Shore Hospital before she died at 3am on Monday.

The woman is understood to have been placed in a bathtub full of ice by a family member before paramedics arrived at the scene. 

A teenage girl sustained burns to her legs and was taken to Young Health Service.

Although fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, the home was destroyed.

Police launched a search for her son Shannon Doble, 42, following the fire. 

Mr Doble presented himself to Parkes Police Station a short time later where he was hit with a string of offences.

Murder (DV), cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder (DV) were among the charges.

He was also charged with damage property by fire/explosion greater than $15,000 (DV) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV). 

The 42-year-old was refused bail to appear before Parkes Local Court on Monday. 

A crime scene was set up with the assistance of the State Crime Command to establish the circumstances around the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner. 

A family member told The Daily Telegraph Ms Doble would be ‘sadly missed’.

‘She was loved by all her family,’ nephew Peter Meyers said.
