BREAKING: Several People Shot at Kansas City Chiefs Victory Parade

Several people were reportedly shot in Missouri on Wednesday during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade.

Kansas City Police Captain Jake Becchina said two armed people were detained after shots were fired at the end of the parade.

“Shots were fired west of Union Station near the garage and multiple people were struck,” police said. “We took two armed people into custody for more investigation.”

At around 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, the Kansas City Fire Department announced that at least one person has died, according to CNN. Fire Department spokesperson Michael Hopkins said that 14 people had been injured, with three of the victims in critical condition. Another five victims are in serious condition.

The shooting reportedly transpired west of Union Station near a parking garage. Police have urged the public to clear the area amid Wednesday’s incident.

Meanwhile, KMBC’s Matt Flener reported seeing three ambulances en route to the Children’s Mercy Hospital’s emergency room.
