EVIL LURKS: FEMALE SYNAGOGUE LEADER STABBED DEAD, DETROIT

Detroit police announced Wednesday that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of Jewish community leader, Samantha Woll.

According to NBC News, police arrested an unnamed suspect for the death of Woll, 40, who was found fatally stabbed outside her Detroit-area home last month. In a statement, Detroit Police Chief James White said that while the development is “encouraging,” the investigation is ongoing.

“While this is an encouraging development in our desire to bring closure for Ms. Woll’s family, it does not represent the conclusion of our work in this case,” White said. ” The details of the investigation will remain confidential at this time to ensure the integrity of the important steps that remain.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Woll attended a wedding on October 20 and left at around 12:30 a.m. White declined to say if she left the wedding alone, saying that detail was a key part of the case investigators are building.

Woll was found stabbed to death outside her Lafayette Park home at about 6:30 a.m. on October 21, with a trail of blood leading back to her home. Police said she was likely attacked inside her home, then stumbled out to collapse in the yard.

“She was one of those people that lots and lots of people have told me they had a very special, personal relationship with Sam like they were this special person,” Woll’s rabbi, Ariana Silverman, said Monday.

“And it’s amazing how many people feel that way and they’re all right. Like she actually did. She had an incredibly special personal relationship with a lot of people and it’s it takes an incredible person to do that.”

Woll was the president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue. White said that so far, the details uncovered in the murder seem “very different from a hate crime.”

The story is developing. Check back for updates.
