‘I Just Want Them Home’: 2 Missing Firefighters May Have Left State Amid Ongoing Search

Two Georgia firefighters who vanished last week were found dead in East Tennessee on Sunday, according to police.

Hinesville firefighters Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander’s bodies were reportedly found in a car in Cosby. Anderson’s vehicle was also located, but officials have not released details regarding either death, according to the Coastal Courier.

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office said that it was investigating the deaths along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and that the bodies had been sent for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.

Before Sunday’s discovery, authorities said they believed Anderson and Kuhbander were in Tennessee. The Coastal Courier reported that Anderson’s debit card was last used at a Circle K in South Carolina — the same place where Kuhbander’s cell phone pinged.

On Monday, Anderson allegedly went to a Crunch Fitness in Savannah, which is also Kuhbander’s gym, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Kuhbander’s mother claimed she viewed surveillance footage which showed Anderson driving around the gym’s parking lot while her son was inside.

According to Coastal Courier, officers who responded to Anderson’s home recovered a note that made them concerned for her and Kuhbander’s wellbeing. The contents of that note have not been disclosed.
