BOLO: Police Continue Search for SC Woman Missing Nearly 2 Months

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina is searching for a missing woman who has not been seen for nearly two months.

Stephanie Womacks was last seen at a campsite in Table Rock State Park on March 3.

Investigators stated that shortly after Womacks was last seen, several of her belongings were found in a mountainous area of Table Rock, outside of the designated hiking trails.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office told WYFF News 4 that its members carry out “informal” searches every Friday.

Officials reported that several independent contractors have contacted the sheriff’s department for a search grid and are participating in the search.

Although these groups are not official search and rescue teams, the sheriff’s office continues to actively pursue Womacks’ case.

Last month, the sheriff’s office said foul play likely was not involved in her disappearance, Greenville News reports.

“Despite our efforts, we have pursued every available lead and utilized every resource at our disposal,” Pickens County Sheriff Tommy Blankenship said. “However, we are unable to locate Womacks. Her disappearance is not suspected to be the result of foul play.”

Womacks stands 5 feet tall, weighs around 100 pounds, and was last seen in jeans and a brown hoodie.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact police at at 864-898-5500.
