BOLO: Illinois Woman Missing Over a Month After Visiting Boyfriend in NC

North Carolina police are searching for an Illinois woman who has been missing for over a month after visiting the Goldberg area.

A missing persons report for 29-year-old Caitlin Hodges was filed in Goldsboro on July 25, according to a Sunday news release from the Goldsboro Police Department.

Hodges. who’s from Crystal Lake, Illinois, was visiting her boyfriend in Goldsboro and was last seen on July 18, according to the non-profit organization, The Aware Foundation.

Goldsboro police did not release a photo of Hodges on Sunday, noting that “a significant amount of misinformation” on social media, Fox 8 reports.

“While we understand that the community is eager to help, we must stress that sharing unverified information can be harmful,” Goldsboro police said. “Misinformation can compromise the integrity of our investigation and, in some cases, may even jeopardize the safety of others involved. We ask the public to refrain from posting or sharing speculative information.”

The Aware Foundation, who shared photos of Hodges, described her as standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing around 135 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes, and multiple tattoos.
