The body of a man has been found washed up at a beach south of Sydney.
NSW Police were called to Stanwell Park beach, about 60km south of Sydney’s CBD, before 7.30am on Tuesday following the grim discovery.
The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, is yet to be formally identified.
Wollongong police officers responded to reports a body had been found at the beach and immediately established a crime scene.
An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, with the cause still yet to be determined.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
