Around 20 family members of Cash App founder, Bob Lee, showed up at a San Fransisco court Monday, as the man accused of killing him appeared briefly for an arraignment.
Lee was found deceased earlier this month in San Fransisco and Nima Momeni, 38, is accused of murdering him. Police arrested Momeni in the San Fransisco suburb of Emeryville after the victim was found with stab wounds at around 4 a.m. on April 4.
Lee later died at an area hospital.
Although Momeni plans to plead not guilty, his lawyer, Paula Canny, asked Monday morning for the arraignment to be rescheduled due to “discovery issues,” Fox News Digital reports.
A judge approved the defense’s request to re-schedule the arraignment, despite objections by San Francisco Assistant District Attorney Omid Talai, who said the arraignment was already postponed before.
Momeni, who wore a standard orange jail shirt and pants to the hearing, said nothing but “Yes, your honor,” when the judge asked if agreed to the continuance.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Lee was drinking with friends, including Momeni’s sister, Khazar Elyassnia, on the day before the stabbing. The suspect later allegedly had a call with Lee and asked him if he was “doing drugs or anything inappropriate” with his sister.
Lee reportedly told the suspect that nothing happened with his sister.
Prior to the stabbing, Momeni and Lee visited Elyassnia at her apartment. Security footage from early in the morning on April 4 showed the pair get into an elevator, leave the building, and then get into Momeni’s car at about 2 a.m.
Then, according to court documents, surveillance footage showed the car drive “to a dark and secluded area” on Main Street.

Momeni then stabbed Lee three times and left him “to slowly die,” court documents say.
Police found Lee bleeding “uncontrollably” from “wounds to his chest and hip” when they arrived just after 2:30 a.m. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died.
Police said they found a kitchen knife with a 4-inch blade, according to court documents.
While the documents did not detail the argument Lee and Momeni appeared to be having over Momeni’s sister, they do share a text she allegedly sent to Lee at some point.
“Just wanted to make sure your doing ok Cause know nima came wayyyyyy down hard on you,” she wrote. “Thank you for being such a classy man handling it with class. Love you Selfish pricks.”
Momeni is scheduled to return to court on May 2
