Houston police found a car believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash 14 miles from the crash scene and have detained the driver.
Investigators said the crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Monday, KHOU reported. The victim was struck and carried for a distance before he was hit several more times.
Houston Police Sgt. David Rose said he may have been hit by a second vehicle, but no drivers involved stayed at the scene.
Police were alerted to the car when a woman called and said a man she knew may have been involved. Investigators responded to an apartment complex about 14 miles away and found a car with a caved-in windshield and a bloodied front end. The car matched a vehicle seen on surveillance footage from the scene.

Rose said the victim in crash was from India and that it would take some time to positively identify him and make notifications.
The driver, who has not been publicly identified, faces a felony charge.
