An Ohio man accused of shooting a bar patron he was feuding with later reportedly bragged and laughed about the incident while in jail.

Jacob Brady, 27, was charged with assault and carrying a concealed weapon following an altercation at a bar in Dayton. According to court documents reviewed by Law&Crime, Dayton Police responded to calls of shots fired at Pat’s Bar in the early morning hours of June 22. When police arrived, witnesses told them that someone had been shot, and a bartender was able to provide video evidence.

According to police, Brady allegedly shot the 23-year-old man, whose name we are not sharing, because he was dating a woman that Brady had wanted to date. Witnesses told police that the woman wanted nothing to do with Brady.

According to reporting on the incident by local NBC affiliate WDTN, the alleged victim took a ride-share to the hospital, where he was said to be in critical condition.

Police said in court documents that Brady confessed to shooting the man, claiming that he did it because the other man was making threats. Witnesses at the bar disputed that, telling police they did not hear any threats being made by the alleged victim. According to court documents, the security video provided by the bartender showed Brady allegedly firing two rounds at the victim. Casings were also found at the bar in the location where the alleged shooting took place.

After Brady was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail, police said he was “laughing” about the incident, and was heard by other inmates saying, “I’m gonna put that on a t-shirt — ‘BLAM, that boy down.'”
